The Internet provides amazing opportunities for everyone to communicate with people all over the world. When you’re stuck for ideas on what to write about, use it to your advantage and get your audience to help with content creation. Just reach out to them in the right places, as described below, and benefit from the feedback they give you.

Blog Post Comments

Set your blog to allow comments and ask for them at the end of each blog post. When people make comments, not only does that add to your SEO, but the comments can also give you ideas to expand on.

Facebook Commentary

Anytime you post anything on Facebook, you’re almost always going to get a comment or a like if you ask. As well as posting on your own feed, go into groups and read what people are asking and saying. You can use that information for content creation and, as that topic is already being discussed, you know that what you write will be valuable for your audience.

Surveys and Polls

Create plenty of surveys, polls and other interactive content. As a result, your audience will start creating some new content for you with their answers. Allow comments on the surveys and polls as well as the sharing of them.

Questions and Answers

You can do this on different social media platforms as well as on your blog, as mentioned above. Ask questions and ask people to answer them in the comments. When this happens within your own groups and on your website, it adds content as is. You can also take the information and create new content from it.

Interviews and Case Studies

Ask your audience to fill out a form, entering their information for an interview-style piece or a case study. You can then write your content around the information they have provided in the form of an interview or case study. This is an excellent way of providing new content for your audience that has effectively been created by your audience.

Discussions

Even if you don’t have a forum on your website, you can use Facebook to create discussions on it. Use a plug-in that links to Facebook so that discussions on your blog can be taken over to Facebook and continued right on your blog.

Contests

Host a contest and you can end up with blogs, videos, social media shares, social media posts and more. Contests that give away a prize can also generate a lot of buzz. This will, in turn, encourage more input from your audience and, in turn, help with content creation.

Photo Sharing

Ask your audience to share photos that have something to do with your business. For example, if you have written a book, ask your customers to share a picture of themselves reading your book. Then, write content based on your book and the great feedback you’ve received from your readers, sharing their photos as testimonials.

Involve your audience for help with content creation

Creating audience-generated content is a simple way to take what happens naturally from the community you’ve built and then turn it into content that your entire audience can enjoy. It’s a great way to create content that your audience will love and look forward to receiving.
